Public Awareness Campaigns
Oklahoma Public Health Association and Online Media Interactive’s Covid-19 Awareness Campaign.
The Oklahoma Public Health Association (OPHA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting public health and improving the well-being of the communities in Oklahoma. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, OPHA recognized the urgent need to raise awareness about the importance of preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus and save lives. They sought the expertise of OMI to create a series of visuals for their Covid-19 awareness campaign.
Understanding the Key Messages
OMI kicked off the project by collaborating closely with OPHA to understand the key messages that needed to be delivered in the campaign. OMI conducted extensive research on the latest guidelines from health authorities and analyzed the data on the local impact of Covid-19 in Oklahoma. We also interviewed OPHA representatives to gain insights into the target audience and their information needs.
Based on the research, OMI identified the following key messages that needed to be conveyed effectively through the visuals:
Wear a mask: OMI understood that wearing masks was a crucial preventive measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We developed visuals that emphasized the importance of wearing masks in public spaces and demonstrated how to wear them correctly.
Practice social distancing: OMI recognized that maintaining physical distance was critical to reducing the transmission of the virus. We created visuals that illustrated the concept of social distancing in various settings, such as at home, at work, and in public.
Wash hands frequently: OMI understood that proper hand hygiene was a simple yet effective way to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We developed visuals that emphasized the importance of washing hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Get vaccinated: OMI recognized that vaccination was a crucial tool in the fight against Covid-19. We created visuals that promoted the benefits of Covid-19 vaccination and encouraged people to get vaccinated as soon as they were eligible.
Delivering Powerful Visuals
Once the key messages were identified, OMI went to work on creating visuals that would effectively convey these messages to the target audience. We used our expertise in graphic design and digital media to develop visually compelling and informative materials.
OMI created a series of eye-catching social media graphics that incorporated OPHA’s branding and messaging, and used a combination of clear and concise text, visually appealing images, and bold colors to create visuals that would grab attention and deliver the messages in a memorable way. OMI ensured that the visuals were easy to understand, accessible, and culturally relevant to resonate with the diverse population in Oklahoma.
OMI also optimized the visuals for different digital platforms, including social media, websites, and email newsletters, to reach a wider audience. We worked closely with OPHA to review and refine the visuals, incorporating feedback and suggestions to ensure that the materials were aligned with OPHA’s goals and messaging.
Spreading Awareness and Saving Lives
The visuals created by OMI for OPHA’s Covid-19 awareness campaign proved to be highly effective in spreading awareness in the hopes of saving lives. OPHA used the visuals in their social media posts, website, and other communication channels to reach a broad audience across Oklahoma.
The visuals helped OPHA to effectively convey the key messages about wearing masks, practicing social distancing, washing hands frequently, and getting vaccinated. They raised awareness about the importance of these preventive measures and encouraged people to take action to protect themselves and their communities from Covid-19.
Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
